A beautifully proportioned burr walnut bureau dating from the mid-20th century. 

All Burr Walnut features a swirling grain that occurs due to growth deformities in the walnut wood; a feature which is distinctive and highly valued in luxury furniture for its one-of-a-kind aesthetic.   

This bureau offers classic charm with practical function. The fall front opens smoothly to reveal a rich red tooled leather writing surface and a tidy interior fitted with dividers and a small central drawer, ideal for correspondence, stationery or love letters! The exterior features the attractive burr walnut veneer with the warm, glowing tones expected from this type of finish and a tasselled key to lock away your private treasures.  Below sits a single drawer with ornate brass handles, supported on elegant Queen Anne style legs with carved acanthus detail.
