A fine Arts and Crafts mahogany washstand crafted in beautifully figured mahogany. The washstand features a bevelled mirror that opens to reveal a storage compartment, resting on a shaped raised back with an open shelf beneath a moulded gallery. The middle section has two small drawers on either side each retaining their original brass drop handles, and in the centre we have a drop-front cupboard opening to reveal a spacious storage compartment. The cabinet stands on square tapering legs united by a lower stretcher, giving the piece both strength and elegant proportions. Originally intended to accommodate toiletries and washroom essentials this would be fabulous as a vanity in either a bedroom or a bathroom.
