A handsome Regency (c1795-1837), mahogany side cabinet of elegant proportions, dating to the early nineteenth century. The well-figured top sits above a bold gadrooned frieze, supported by turned and ringed columns to either side, terminating in distinctive bun feet. The paired panelled doors open to reveal a shelved interior, offering generous and practical storage for dining ware, linens or household pieces. The mahogany displays rich colour and attractive grain throughout, particularly to the door panels, with a warm depth that only time can produce. The cabinet’s restrained classical detailing and balanced form make it a versatile piece, equally suited to a hallway, dining room or sitting room.
