A superb Edwardian oak bookcase of impressive scale and elegant proportion.  The upper section features four glazed doors with original glass and classic astragal glazing bars, including striking diagonal crossbsars to the outer doors.  Inside, the shelves offer generous display space for books, ceramics or curated collections.  

The cornice is detailed with a carved dentil frieze that runs the full width, adding refinement and architectural presence.  Below, the base comprises four beautifully panelled cupboards with shaped fielded panels and moulded edges, providing excellent hidden storage.  The richly figured oak has developed a warm, amber patina throughout, enhanced by years of careful use.  An understated large piece of furniture, holding its elegance well.
