A handsome carved oak Hallrobe (really a wardrobe, but this was probably meant for a hallway, that said you can put it anywhere you like!!) dating from the early 20th century, displaying strong Gothic Revival influences. The moulded cornice is richly decorated with carved foliate motifs and centred with a distinctive and very charming mask carving, like Green Man or The Joker, who has been placed there to bring you luck and protection. The panelled doors, and who doesn't love panelling, feature decorative carved details and original iron strap hinges and fittings.

Constructed in solid oak with a warm, mellow patina, the wardrobe offers practical hanging space within and retains a pleasingly simple interior that contrasts beautifully with the elaborate exterior craftsmanship. The proportions make it ideal for use in a bedroom, boot room, hallway or country house interior.

A characterful and well-made piece that combines everyday functionality with the architectural presence and craftsmanship associated with traditional oak furniture of the period.
