Edwardian Ladies Writing Bureau by James Shoolbred & Co.

A charming and beautifully proportioned Edwardian ladies writing bureau, crafted in rich walnut with a warm, glowing patina.  Standing gracefully on slender, shapely cabriole legs, this piece combines elegance with practicality in a compact footprint.  The fall-front opens smoothly to reveal a fitted interior with pigeonholes, small drawers with tiny porcelain knobs, compartment for keeping stationary of love letters! The writing surface shows a lovely depth of colour built up over time.  

Below, two serpentine-front drawers offer additional storage and are fitted with decorative brass backplates and drop handles.  They are oak lined.  The bureau front features delicate crossbanding and subtle shaping along the apron, adding refinement without fuss.
