An elegant Edwardian mahogany folding Cake Stand or Tea Table dating from the early 20th century. Cleverly designed, the stand presents as a slender occasional table with a single cupboard-style front panel, opening to reveal four pull-out serving shelves. Each shelf features a raised circular surround designed to hold plates or dishes securely in place.

Raised on turned supports with an undertier shelf and finished with attractive satinwood-style stringing and a decorative oval patera to the front, this is a piece that combines practicality with refined Edwardian design. Ideal as a cake stand, supper stand or occasional side table, it folds away neatly when not in use, making it perfect for both display and entertaining. Also perfectly suited to being a plant stand. A charming and increasingly hard-to-find example of Edwardian ingenuity and craftsmanship.
