Edwards & Roberts’ Leather Top Writing Table

A refined antique Edwardian writing desk by Edwards & Roberts, one of London’s most respected cabinet makers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Elegantly proportioned, the desk stands on slender tapering legs terminating in brass castors, giving it a light and graceful presence. The top is inset with a black leather writing surface framed by a beautifully figured crossbanded border. Three drawers run along the front, each fitted with decorative brass handles, providing practical storage while maintaining the desk’s clean, balanced lines. Fine inlaid detailing and rich mahogany veneers add further sophistication.

The maker’s label for Edwards & Roberts of Wardour Street, Piccadilly and Oxford Street remains inside the drawer, as well as the names being etched into the drawer edge, firmly confirming its distinguished provenance.
