Vintage Cast Bronze Bell on Oak Stand

Lovely old  bell dated 1948 on a wooden stand, cast in bronze with inscriptions in Afrikaans. Loosely translated via Google as "My name is Roeland" and "Tough country for any man" and on the edge of the bell "My people so proud and faithfull in joy and sorrow" all of which perhaps suggests ecclesiastical origins.
